Timeline

Academis concept is based on the integrated solution University Management System, result of The Red Point’s expertise and experience achieved by company consultants within the academic fi eld. Along with the improvement of schooling management, the solution also needed integrated IT solutions to manage the financial processes within the universities. Thus, the concept was extended by the integration of the SAP All-in-One solution. As a result of this integration, Academis was certified as the only solution in Romania designed for university management.

Presently, Academis provides an effective and comprehensive management system, using optimized IT applications for all university specific processes and flows. The variety of processes within universities determined us to integrate two new modules besides the educational and financial components, in order to complete the application field of the system: e-learning, Organizational Process Management and Education Quality Assessment.

Without being limited only to the continuous development of Academis solution in line with the technological standards and trends, The Red Point vision envisages a planned expansion of the platform by adding new components based on complementary technologies. The short term objective of The Red Point is to develop and integrate in Academis the following new components: Library, Time table and Alumni.

The Academis vision is strongly supported by the company’s expertise, high quality services and the business alliances established with the best players on the market.

Factors that supported development of Academis integrated solution:

  • The need to enhance the quality and competitiveness of the higher education institutions, following the accession to the European Union.
  • The shift without precedence occurred in the contemporary academic environment. These transformations are mostly generated by the rapid innovation of the IT & C technologies. Development and expansion of the technologies in the academic environment include changes of the classical management models applied by universities by adopting new IT management systems.

Given such premises, The Red Point developed Academis solution that efficiently covers and supports the entire range of organizational processes and that includes key functions specific to the university environment.
